This is a design course that combines art and technology to communicate ideas. It models a variety of occupations and skills used in the exciting and creative Graphic Arts Industry. Students will focus on communication and expression through the use of visuals based on the elements and principles of design including layout, typography and illustration as well as post production techniques for finishing.  We will focus on learning the basics of design programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop to create unique artworks that express concepts related to personal interests and popular culture.  The goal is to use art to explore your ability to communicate to others and to become more aware of how you can impact the world around you. At the completion of this course, students can earn 3 articulated college credit hours at Waubonsee Community College. (Valees-I146)
